Cachoeira, Caribe
- a Performance
- by Tetsuya Maruyama
- Description (english) Cachoeira meets the Caribbean Sea, united by the telluric force of African matrix. The performance, “Cachoeira, Caribe”, investigates human perception through a collective/cosmic immersion in an imaginary cave, not with concrete images, but only with the harvest of the land: salt and plants. In this immersive condition, the action aims to trigger the individual’s imaginary, despite the collective environment where it takes place. This collective practice of projected/shared images is a result of civilized imagination. The artist operates two super 8 projectors, along with various objects to create the depth only accessible to unruled eyes. Super 8 dual projection performance realized with Cris Miranda, 2020/01/11@Centro Municipal de Arte Hélio Oiticàca, Rio de Janeiro.
