Elegy For The Ghost Rider

Elegy For The Ghost Rider is an interpretive poetic portrait of an elevated subway burial in Queens (NY), the epicenter during the Covid-19 outbreak. Creating a meditation on presence in absence using an American haiku structure, celluloid merges with subway tracks through emotional color abstractions for which ethereal “hungry ghosts” find transcendence. Incorporating pinhole cinematography and Geophone recordings to capture vibrations, the series of images slowly become a simulacrum of the early days of the pandemic.
