Beyond the great history of Italian cinema and its announced death, there is another story, that of an invisible and resistant cinema, this cinema that no storm can destroy because it will always return, free and spontaneous, like the wild grasses along the back roads. "The Burning Fields" is the fourth episode of "The Back Roads", a cinematic road movie that travels from north to south across Italy in search of an independent cinema, considered dead and yet very much alive. From the ruins of the Circo Massimo in Rome, through its forgotten suburbs, to the rubble of Pozzuoli, the film goes to encounter a cinema of survival, that of Beppe Gaudino and Isabella Sandri.

En-deça de la grande Histoire du cinéma italien et de sa mort annoncée, il y a l'autre histoire, celle d'un cinéma invisible et résistant, ce cinéma qu'aucune tempête ne pourra anéantir parce qu'il reviendra toujours, libre et spontané, comme les herbes folles le long des chemins de traverse. "Les Champs brûlants" est le quatrième épisode des « Chemins de traverse », road movie cinématographique qui parcourt l'Italie du nord au sud à la recherche d'un cinéma indépendant, considéré comme mort et pourtant bien vivant. Des ruines du Circo Massimo à Rome, en passant par ses banlieues oubliées, jusqu'aux décombres de Pozzuoli, le film va à la rencontre d'un cinéma de la survivance, celui de Beppe Gaudino et Isabella Sandri.

Al di là della grande Storia del cinema italiano e della sua morte annunciata, c'è un'altra storia, quella di un cinema invisibile e resistente che nessuna tempesta potrà annientare, perché tornerà sempre, libero e spontaneo, come le erbe selvatiche sui margini dei senteiri. 'CAMPI ARDENTI' è il quarto episodio di 'VIE TRAVERSE', road movie cinematografico che percorre l'Italia dal nord al sud alla ricerca di un cinema independente, estremamente vivo, anche se considerato morto. Dalle rovine del Circo Massimo a Roma, passando per le periferie dimenticate, fino alle macerie di Pozzuoli, il film cerca di incontrare un cinema di sopravvivenza, quello di Beppe Gaudino e Isabella Sandri.
