    The Trilogie Carnassière is a triptych about meat.

    This is animals, humans, killings, always in an intimate context, in farms, following a certain tradition, with what has been transmitted and what has been lost, with joy, improvisation, chaos, but also this gravity necessarily linked to death.

    The first film is a weave of chicken wings, feathers, and blood.
    The second is a killing of pigs, filmed in 16mm in a collective place, where we feel the strong importance of transmission and sharing. From a distance you might think seing a feverish, confused agitation, but it is on approach that you discover the precision of the gestures and precious know-how, and it becomes like a dance of boots, hands and knives. There is both this feeling of the serious, almost solemn moment, because we have killed and it must be done well, and this joy which augurs the conviviality to come, the intense pleasure of the shared meal.

    La trilogie Carnassière est un triptyque sur la viande.

    Ce sont des animaux, des humains, des mises à mort, toujours dans un contexte intime, à la ferme, suivant une certaine tradition, avec ce qui s’est transmis et ce qui s’est perdu, avec de la joie, de l’improvisation, du chaos, mais aussi cette gravité nécessairement liée à la mort.

    Le premier film est un tissage d’ailes, de plumes, et de sang de poulets.
    Le second est une mise à mort de cochons, filmée en 16mm dans un lieu collectif, où l’on ressent l’importance forte de la transmission et du partage. De loin on croirait voir une agitation fébrile, confuse, mais c’est à l’approche que l’on découvre la précision des gestes et un savoir-faire précieux, et cela devient comme une danse de bottes, de mains et de couteaux. Il y a à la fois ce sentiment du moment grave, presque solennel, car on a tué et il faut que cela soit bien fait, et cette joie qui augure la convivialité à venir, le plaisir intense du repas partagé.
