YH723
- a Film
- by Roger Hewins
- Description (english) YH723 is a manipulation of one of the first films shot in the eastern part of the UK. As film ages it suffers physical wear and damage. The battle between representational image and the visual attributes of process and decay is exaggerated by the varying inconsistencies of the home-made cyanotype emulsion on which YH723 is printed. The original images continually emerge, take on the characteristics of texture and pattern of the emulsion itself, and then dissolve into alternative textures or to obscurity behind the film surface.
